Okidokee. I have both the Marvel and DC galleries online, though I expect to continue to tweak their appearance for a while yet. I have 20 or so images reposted so far. Unfortunately I didn’t think ahead, posted them randomly with no regard to creation date so old and new are mixed willy nilly and that drives me crazy. I’m too lazy to start over though, so I guess I’ll just have to live with it. I’m going to be working on getting more images loaded over the weekend. I had approximately 120 images on the old site and I’m not planning to repost all of them, just cherry pick the ones I like. Guess that means all the Power Girl and Scarlet Witch images will be back!

I have to say that I really like the NextGen gallery plugin. Upload times are much faster than my old ASP.NET based script and thumbnails are created for me (though I do have to edit the ones for images that are not close to square to keep them from distorting.)

Once I have the galleries completely reloaded, I have a couple of project WIP images I want to share. Then it’s time to get to work on a long overdue commission piece that I plan to share “progress reports” on, if it’s OK with my client.

That’s all for now.

Partially, at least. At the end of November/first of December last year, my web host, with no notice of any kind, deleted 3DHeroes along with the other 5 sites I had hosted with them. They have never given me a reason, but it appears that they “upgraded” their equipment and in the process, managed to wipe me out. Until now, I have not had the time nor the inclination to restore anything, but I’ve come across a bit of free time and I’ve started recreating my sites, beginning with 3DHeroes.

Since having everything deleted pissed me off more than just a little, I have moved to a new hosting service. I’ve also decided to try and use Wordpress to run the site instead of ASP as in the past. Wordpress is completely new to me, so please bear with me as I learn enough to get the site really back online. The next step is to find and use a Wordpress plug-in to create a gallery. If things go as planned, I’ll have that figured out and working by this weekend.

Back to work then and thanks for stopping by.

Dan
